This is a blog about a family.

I'm Tabatha. The bare-bones basics about me is that I'm in my late twenties, and I'm a college-educated stay-at-home mom. I'm married to my college sweetheart with whom I have two kids, five cats, and a Chihuahua in our 115 year old house in Dayton, Ohio.

My husband is a public high school teacher, and we met in the Sociology of Sexual Behavior (true story) class and pretty much fell completely disgustingly in love with each other. We were engaged by graduation, bought our house shortly there after, and were married a year after that in October 2008.

Our son, Kiedis, was born in March 2009 with several health issues (supra-ventricular tachycardia, tethered cord of the spine, enlarged kidneys, and ureter reflux to start) and spent some time in the NICU. As he's grown we've faced several more hurdles, including surgeries and the emergence of several developmental and behavioral delays.
Kiedis is the brightness to my day and the darkness to my night and is 100% my child packaged in a miniature version of his father's frame.

Our daughter, Tova, was born in August 2010 and is blissfully "normal" albeit magically redheaded. She is the wholeness of my heart and the constant reminder of what choosing love above all else can do.
She also has a temper to rival Naomi Campbell's.

In the span of this blog's existence, I've battled postpartum depression, divorce, infidelity, temporary child loss, financial hardship, familial excommunication, and coming to grips with being a special needs mom, for starters.

The book is forthcoming.

In the meantime, brace yourself for brutal honesty, humor, beauty, and the stories of my life as I live them.

I'm glad you're here.
