It's here that I can tell how quickly they've grown in a year, how quickly they are growing up and away from me. All of the changes of the past year are apparent in the rays of the sun that peek through the barn walls and spread across the autumn fields -- and not just the changes in my children, but in me and my life and our family's life. This is the check-in point, the place where I reflect on the choices I've made and try to see how to do better, be better, before I come back to this place another year older. Autumn has always been that way for me, but this farm, this farm drives it deep into my heart.
If only holding on to time was as easy as going through old photographs.
