For a while now, I've been intrigued by the 365 project philosophy. While I'm not really down with taking a photo of myself every stinking day for a year (because more often than not it'd be the same unshowered, bed-headed, two-day-old pj wearing, exhausted faced photo on repeat) I do find my self sucked in a little by the Diabetes 365 projects, where the photos are just a picture a day in the life of a diabetic.
However, since I think for me that would personally get old quick, I don't think a theme as specific as a disease or subject matter like my own mug would really be my kind of style.
Lately I've found myself taking mental photos of things throughout my day -- the way the toys are scattered, a couple of the cats snuggling together for a nap, the rare moments of the kids playing together -- and hoping I can really actually remember them for longer than a couple of days, that I can really commit to memory these little things that make up the everyday experience of our lives, not just the bigger moments that are of course going to stick with you.
And I doubt that without assistance that I can hold on to as many as I want.
So I revamped my little-known, underloved Tumblr to be just that -- a place for me to actually take those photos (with my phone and my photo-masking apps, of course) and record them for not only myself, but for you all to catch a glimpse of the inner workings of this family, if you so desire.
Think of it as a poor man's Instagram for Android, plus my usual level of offbeat perspective and snark.
I got a head start on it this weekend, beginning on October 1st, and it's my goal to just snap one moment a day for as long as it still interests me.
So, without further ado, my (very) personal pet project: Snapshots From The Daily Grind.
Feel free to follow along, or not if that's not your thing. It's just another facet of this virtual life I lead.
